A Little History

In 1988, The Complete Package^® (TCP), a DOS-based program for preparing annual statements, was born. Less than 20 fraternal insurance companies used TCP at that time, soon to be joined by property and casualty, life, health and title companies.

TCP was redesigned in 1995 to run in the new Windows® environment. Not only was this 16-bit version of TCP the first Annual Statement software written for Windows, it was a breakthrough in terms of ease of use. Windows allowed us to eliminate many of the steps necessary to complete various tasks like pulling prior year data or creating the NAIC electronic filing. By this time, over 500 insurance companies, of all statement types, were using TCP.

In 1998, TCP was again rewritten as the first 32-bit Annual Statement software. This meant much faster processing times for everything from opening and saving a page to running validations and creating electronic filings. By now, word had really spread and over 1,200 companies were using TCP.

Today, over 1,700 out of approximately 4,800 companies use TCP. That’s over 35%, nearly all of which had previously used a different Annual Statement software product. We have eliminated the workstation setup, the first step toward allowing companies to access TCP over the internet.
