What You Will Learn:

Participants will gain an understanding of the investment accounting and financial reporting requirements for P&C and Health insurance companies. The primary focus will be on the statutory reporting environment, but GAAP and federal income taxation rules for investments also will be addressed. Emphasis will be given to new accounting and reporting guidelines.

Schedule D preparers, investment managers and staff, and others interested in the accounting and financial reporting for invested assets in P&C insurance companies.

Prerequisites:

No advance preparation or prerequisite is required for this introductory seminar. Those who would benefit from an introduction to the accounting and reporting for the operations of a P&C insurance company should consider combining this seminar with the one-day Overview of Statutory Financial Reporting, conveniently scheduled to precede this seminar. Alternatively, this knowledge may be gained by participating in our Fundamentals of P&C Insurance webinar series.
