What you will learn:

Participants in this seminar will develop an understanding of statutory accounting concepts as they pertain to Health Maintenance Organizations and health insurers, and acquire knowledge and skills necessary to prepare the combined Health Annual Statement for HMOs, LHSOs, HMDIs and other health insurers (Orange Book). Class discussion will address virtually all pages, exhibits and schedules included in the NAIC Health Annual Statement. The seminar also will identify and discuss NAIC statutory accounting principles applicable to these health organizations. Finally, the seminar will address the NAIC health test and transition to the Health Annual Statement for life and P&C insurers who previously have completed the Blue Book or Yellow Book.

Who Should Attend:

Accountants, auditors, actuaries, financial executives and staff, regulators and others responsible for the preparation, review or audit of all or a significant portion of the Health Annual Statement. Also, those transitioning to the Health Annual Statement from other NAIC blanks.

Prerequisites:

No advance preparation or prerequisite is required for this comprehensive introductory seminar.

Class Times:

Class begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. except on the last seminar day which adjourns at 12:15 p.m.
