Is there any specific STAT guidance around how to account/accrue for a retention bonus?

From what i can tell it would fall under SSAP No. 11, but that is not very descriptive in terms of when a Company would recognize the expense.

I agree, I also didn?t find specific statutory guidance addressing the timing of the expense recognition associated with a retention bonus. Unless there are some unusual provisions of in the retention agreement, typically the expense associated with the retention bonus is recognized ratably over the retention period.
